The event to raise awareness about human trafficking had taken place

On 5 May, 2017 the event was held with the participation of specialists responsible for provision of medical, psychological and relevant assistance to the victims  victims of human trafficking (asylum and assistance centers) in accordance with the “National Action Plan on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (2014-2018) in Azerbaijan Republic” approved by the Order of the president of Azerbaijan Republic dated July 24, 2014, No.667.

Representatives  of the shelter for the victims of human trafficking under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Anti-Trafficking Department, “Family World” Legal Assistance to Families Public Union, “Clean World” Aid to Women Public Union, Azerbaijan Children Union were participated at  the event.

Parviz Aliyev, representative  of the Department of Children Affairs of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, made an opening speech and stressed the importance of event. He also emphasized the increasing of the services for the victims of human trafficking.

Farid Adilov, representative of the Department of Children Affairs of  the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, delivered the international standards for children who have been victims of human trafficking, registration, initial questioning and interviewing child victims and mentioned the services which should be done during their stay in shelters.

Maftuna Ismayilova, representative of the Department for the work with Regional Centers of  the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, provided the participants with social-psychological services for the victims of human trafficking and work principles with those people.

Moreover, active discussion was conducted with participants dedicated to the strengthening the activities in the field of rehabilitation and reintegration, and resolving the social-economical and employment issues of families under the risk groups, and strengthening the cooperation  with non-governmental organizations.
