The representative of the State Committee participated in the 2nd meeting of the Parties on the "European Union for Gender Equality: against gender stereotypes and gender-based violence" (EU4GE) program in Istanbul

On July 5-6, 2022, in Istanbul with the financial support of the European Union the 2nd meeting of the Parties was held on the “European Union for Gender Equality(EU4GE): Against Gender Stereotypes and Gender-Based Violence” Program jointly implemented by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Agency for Women (UN Women).

Mr. Farid Adilov, head of the Department of Foreign Relations and Protocol Service of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs took part in the meeting.

The two-day meetings were attended by representatives of the UN Population Fund and the Agency for Women from 6 countries, representatives of the state bodies of the countries where the project is implemented, as well as representatives of civil society, the private sector and the European Union.

The purpose of the meeting is to exchange the experience of the countries and at the regional level, as well as the existing difficulties and the achieved results, to form a new platform related to the fight against harmful gender stereotypes, and to prepare practical recommendations for the implementation of the project in the coming years.

The 2-day event went on with sessions.

The sessions were devoted to the topics such as "Changing Behavioral and Social Norms to Promote Gender Equality and Prevent Violence Against Women", "Affecting Change by Increasing Data and Information on Gender Norms and Stereotypes", "Men's Gender Equality by Promoting Employed Fatherhood and Equal Sharing of Household Responsibilities" "Civil society cooperation to find innovative communication and flexible solutions to overcome harmful gender stereotypes", "Programs for perpetrators of domestic violence in the Eastern Partnership region - analysis and recommendations".
