Trainings on rehabilitation program for perpetrators of domestic violence have been completed in the framework of the Twinning project "Strengthening the capacity of government agencies and local guidance mechanisms to ensure the safety and support of victims of domestic violence in Azerbaijan" implemented with the financial support of the European Union and in partnership with the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.

The two-week training was based on the Twinning Project Experts Intervention Program on Domestic Violence, developed by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.

The aim of the trainings conducted by Lithuanian experts on the basis of the “Train the Trainers” principle is to train trainers who can implement a rehabilitation program to work with perpetrators of domestic violence.

The trainings were attended by employees of the SCFWCA, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and the Probation Service of the Ministry of Justice.

Based on the Duluth model, the program is currently used in many countries and aims to help people stop violence.

It helps perpetrators to analyze the causes of their violent behavior, understand their feelings and learn to express them constructively, develop a positive attitude towards relationships, family budget management and the household, and gain new skills in resolving disputes.

It should be noted that the program was developed in accordance with the "National Action Plan to Combat Domestic Violence in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2020-2023" approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 27, 2020.
