The study visit of the Azerbaijani delegation to Lithuania within the Twinning project has ended

A study visit to The Republic of Lithuania was organized within the framework of the EU-funded twinning project "Strengthening the capacity of government agencies and local referral mechanisms to ensure the safety and support of victims of domestic violence in Azerbaijan" implemented by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs and relevant organizations of Lithuania and Austria on 23- 27 August 2021 has ended.

During the visit, a meeting was held on August 26, 2021 at the police station of Lithuania  to study the experience in the prevention of domestic violence.

Mrs. Christina Alisauskiene, Chief Investigator said that the calls to the police  were divided into three categories (A, B, C). Ms. Christina A. noted that Category A calls require police to be at the scene within 12 minutes at the latest, and Category B calls within 20 minutes. It was stated that the police should turn on the cameras for video recording from the moment they arrive at the scene, and all the preliminary investigations should be carried out.

Afterward, a meeting was organized at the Vilnius Local Police Station to get acquainted with the work in the field of operative response to cases of domestic violence.

Ms. Ingrida Lamanauskiene, Chief Investigator of the Intervention and Preparatory Department of the Public Order Board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs spoke about the assessment of the psychological injuries and psychological assistance to women victims of violence.

Conclusion meeting was held at the Ministry of Social Protection and Labor to finalize the results of the visit and discuss prospects for the cooperation in this area on August 27, 2021.
