A video conference on "XXI century: national and moral values and gender policy" was held

On April 14, the State Committee on Religious Associations and the State Committee for Family, Women and Children  Affairs (SCFWCA) jointly organized a video conference on "XXI century: national, spiritual values ​​and gender policy." The video conference was attended by the leadership and employees of the organizing bodies, representatives of the city and district executive authorities, members of the Public Councils under the SCWRA and SCWRA.

Chairperson of the State Committee on Religious Associations Mubariz Gurbanli and Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Bahar Muradova made introductory speeches at the conference.

Drawing attention to the conference, Mubariz Gurbanli, Chairperson of the State Committee on Religious Associations, said that the theme of our national and moral values ​​and gender equality has always been a topic of discussion in the historical path of the Azerbaijani people.

The Chairperson of the Committee said that our national and moral values, traditions and religion play a special role in the implementation of gender education. The values ​​inherent in the people and the nation have a direct impact on ensuring gender equality.

Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, said that gender equality is the creation of equal rights, responsibilities, opportunities for men and women, as well as an equal social situation in society.

Then the rector of the Azerbaijan Theological Institute Agil Shirinov spoke on "National and moral values ​​and women's rights in the context of history and modernity."

Speaking on "Women's rights and gender equality in Islam", Deputy Chair of the Caucasus Muslims Board  Gamarkhanim Javadli spoke about the rights and freedoms granted to women by Islam, the importance of women's education in Islam.

Elgun Safarov, Head of the Information and Analytical Research Department of the SCFWCA  made a presentation on "Ensuring Gender Equality: Challenges, Achievements, Development Goals and New Challenges" and shared a number of statistics.

Speaking on "The place and role of women in the protection of our national and moral values", Elnara Karimova, head of the Analysis and Forecasting Department of the SCRA, said that one of the main factors in the rapid development of any society in our modern world depends on women's social activity. The worthy position of women, both in the family and in society, is first and foremost an indicator of the high moral quality of that society, including its development and happy future. Karimova also touched upon the special role of women in the formation and survival of our system of national and moral values.

The video conference continued with discussions.
