A new composition of the Public Council under the State Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs was elected

In accordance with the “Regulations on the Election of the Public Council by Civil Society Institutions”, оn February 19, 2021 the elections to the Public Council of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs were held.

As a result, 21 candidates, whose documents meet the requirements of the legislation, were officially registered.

An Electoral Commission consisting of 9 members, including 4 members of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs and 5 members of the civil society institutions was established to organize the elections. According to the protocol of the Commission the number of members was 11.

From January 26 to February 9, 98 civil society institutions were registered to participate in the elections, and 87 of them participated in the voting.

The elections resulted by electing the new composition of the Public Council, consisting of 11 members.

It should be noted that according to the legislation, members of the Council must be re-elected every two years.

The Public Council will implement public control over the work of the State Committee, the organization of effective cooperation between the Committee and society, taking into account public opinion and the legitimate interests of citizens in the formation of public policy and decision-making.

The elections were held in the assembly hall of the Azerbaijani State Pedagogical University.
