The issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Republic of Azerbaijan

On February 12, 2021, an online meeting was held between representatives of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SCFWCA) and the Ministry for Support of Mahalla and Family of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The purpose of the event is to further expand bilateral relations with relevant bodies of the states and hold joint events.

The sides discussed issues of mutual interest, including the development of bilateral relations, strengthening cooperation, support for families, women and the elderly, exchange of experience in the field of protection of women’s and children’s rights.

The opening speech was made by Mrs. Sabina Manafova, Head of the International Relations and Protocol Service Department of the SCFWCA of Azerbaijan, and Mrs. Guljamal Shukurova, Head of the International Relations Department of the Ministry for Support of Mahalla and Family of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, representatives of relevant departments established the basis for cooperation on issues of mutual interest, including family and women support, the issues of prevention of domestic violence among women, as well as divorce cases, strengthening family values, involvement of NGOs in projects related to the work with women. It was planned to hold a joint international scientific-practical conference on "Features of working with vulnerable groups in modern governance: the example of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan." The sides shared their views on strengthening the material and technical database of regional centers, the system of working with women at the community level, mechanisms for identifying and solving women's problems, state support measures for families in need of social protection, psychological assistance.

The Uzbekistan side expressed interest in studying the rich experience of Azerbaijan and stressed the importance of signing a bilateral memorandum.
