Mrs. Bahar Muradova made a speech at the last plenary session of the autumn of the Milli Majlis in 2020

Today was held the last plenary session of the Milli Majlis of the autumn 2020.

At the meeting, Mrs. Bahar Muradova, the Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, made a report on the activities of the Committee for 2019 in accordance with Article 20 of the Law "On Guarantees of Gender Equality".

The report was presented in 4 main directions: The main directions of the state policy on ensuring gender equality; Responsibilities of the state in ensuring gender equality; Ensuring gender equality by areas; Measures to be taken to ensure gender equality in Azerbaijan.

Focusing on the elimination of all forms of gender discrimination and ensuring gender equality by creating equal opportunities for men and women in all spheres of public life, the chair of the Committee addressed this issue in the public administration. She noted that increased attention was paid to awareness-raising and enlightening activities in the field of promoting gender culture.

At the same time, Mrs. Bahar Muradova touched upon special projects implemented in the country to support employment and entrepreneurship, as well as to promote gender equality, saying that these measures have accelerated the process of economic empowerment of women. She noted that the State Committee cooperates with relevant government agencies (institutions) to ensure the implementation of the law, as well as the implementation of international obligations of our country in this area, coordinates its activities and provides recommendations to eliminate existing gaps.
