Condolences on the death of Mrs. Adila Namazova, prominent Azerbaijani scientist, academician

The leadership and staff of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs express their condolences over the death of Mrs. Adila Namazova, prominent Azerbaijani scientist, pediatrician, doctor of medical sciences, professor, academician.  

Mrs. Adila Namazova, who died at the age of 94, was recognized as the first female pediatrician in Azerbaijan as an honored scientist who has made significant contributions to medical science for more than 70 years. She is the author of 300 scientific works, 8 monographs and textbooks, 5 inventions.

She devoted a large part of her life to the study of the secrets of medical science, especially in the treatment of diseases of infants and children, conducted extensive and in-depth scientific research in the field of treatment of congenital heart defects in children.

Mrs. Adila Namazova, was elected a corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences in 1971 and became the first Azerbaijani woman scientist to be awarded such a high scientific title. Mrs. Adila Namazova has been the chairman of the Azerbaijan Pediatric Society since 1976. As a result of her hard work and responsible activity, she was awarded the Order of Glory and the Order of Honor.

Along with scientific, pedagogical and medical activities, Mrs. Adila Namazova also worked very actively in the public sphere. She has become a shining example for Azerbaijani women with her effective public activities as a leading woman and selfless mother.

Mrs. Adila  Namazova has been actively cooperating with the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs for about 15 years, actively participating in projects involving women, children and families, and sharing her rich experience with the younger generation.

She also made an invaluable contribution to the prevention of children's health by voluntarily participating as a physician in projects implemented by the Committee in the regions, especially in the frontline areas.
