The State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs held a Board meeting.
On August 7, 2020, the Board of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs met to discuss implemented work for the first half of 2020 and future tasks.
Opening the meeting the Chairperson of the State Committee Mrs. Bahar Muradova made brief analysis of current political, economic and social situation in Azerbaijan and emphasized the urgency of family, women and children issues and the Committee's adequate response to recent challenges . Touching upon the works done to combat the consequences of coronavirus, Mrs. Muradova underlined the work of the Committee in accordance with its powers and capabilities to the preparation of a number of important documents and projects, as well as about support measures for citizens and families from vulnerable group of population . She also mentioned Committee’s contribution during the tension in the direction of Tovuz region . Mrs.Muradova also noted the importance of effective cooperation with state bodies, mass media, international and non-governmental organizations.
Then the Chief of the Committee’s Staff Mrs.Ceyran Rahmatullayeva gave information on the implementation of the Committee's work plan in the first half of this year and the work plan for the second half of 2020.
Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee, Mrs.Sadagat Gahramanova gave speech on the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On Gender Equality Guarantees" and informed about important newly prepared documents.
Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee, Mrs.Aynur Sofiyeva informed about measures taken in the field of family and children affairs, and preparation of action plan on implementation of the Children's Strategy for 2020-2025. At the same time, she pointed out joint action with the relevant agencies to ensure efficiency and coordination within adopted in the framework "Rules for raising awareness on the importance of marriage and family relations and the negative consequences of early marriages and marriages between relatives ".
It should be noted that the meeting was also attended ( online) by the representatives of 11 Child and Family Support Centers operating under the State Committee.
