Online meeting between the Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mrs. Bahar Muradova and Vice President for Women and Family Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mrs.Masuma Ebtekar

On June 16, 2020, an online meeting was held between the Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mrs. Bahar Muradova and Vice President for Women and Family Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mrs.Masuma Ebtekar.


First of all, Mrs. Bahar Muradova emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran have always been based on mutually beneficial cooperation and strong friendship and serve to the interests of our countries and nations.


Then Chairperson underlined that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to representation of women in state administration, and their contribution to the state and society is highly valued.


Noting, that First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan  Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva pays great attention to this field, she added that representation of women in high positions creates conditions for their participation in social and public life. During the meetingi nformation was presented on the work of the Committee during the COVID 19 pandemic.
TheVice President for Women and Family Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mrs. Masuma Ebtekar expressing gratitude for the close cooperation, highlighted the work carried out through the joint activities.


Speaking about the works done by both countries in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, Mrs. Ebtekar emphasized the importance of the steps taken by Azerbaijan in regard to COVID-19, noting with gratitude that along with other countries Azerbaijan provided financial assistance to her country.
During the meeting the issues of prevention of domestic violence, violence against women and children, ensuring gender equality in all spheres, economic empowerment of women, prospects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation were discussed.
