The closing ceremony of “Azerbaijani Family -2018” Film Festival

The award ceremony and closing ceremony of the film festival "Azerbaijan Family 2018" organized  by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Culture and the United Nations Population Fund was held at the International Mugam Center on November 29.

The festival was attended by representatives of government agencies, executive authorities and non-governmental organizations, students, as well as film directors and photographers the participants of the festival.

Since 2009 the State Committee for Family, Women and Children, Heydar Aliyev Foundation and United Nations Population Fund has been conducting a film festival entitled “Azerbaijani family” as a part of enlightenment measures to help protect family values. Special attention is paid to films reflecting issues such as family values, respect for older people, childcare, socialization and family problems.

The exhibition, which was organized before the event, featured 25 best-performing works of  23-year-old Gunay Mammadli. Chairman of the State Committee Hijran Huseynova, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov, Chairman of the State Agency for Citizens Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of Azerbaijan Elders Council Fattah Heydarov and other guests visited the exhibition.

The exhibition of photos represented to the contest “ From life to photo” was also demonstrated to the guests of the event.

The event was opened by the chairman of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Hijran Huseynova. She   expressed gratitude to all responsible bodies for supporting the implementation of this project. “Our Constitution makes it clear that family is the basis of our society” the deputy head continued, adding that “the law preserves its legal entity and strengthens its ties and values”. “The project is focused onfamily values, dialogue and communication within the family environment”, she concluded. 

Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov said that the "Azerbaijan Family" festival serves to protect and promote family values and brings  up the young generation in the spirit of respect to elders, promote the culture of tolerance and peace in family relations. .

At the end, the winners of the "Azerbaijan Family-2018" film festival and "From life to photo" photo contest were awarded by diplomas and prizes. At the end, a memorial photo was shot.

In the competition organized by the Committee participated 5 feature films, 3 TV programs (TV programs of ARB Media), 6 documentary films, 12 student films, 12 foreign films (Russia, Belarus, Morocco and Iran), 1 Cartoon , 8 Social Transmissions, 7 patriotic films (34 local directors participated in the competition), and 82 photos from 22 participants submitted "From Life to photo" photo contest held within the framework of the "Azerbaijan Family" film festival.
