“Engaging families in Public Libraries”

The jointly project of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, the Knowledge Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan focused on engaging families in public libraries had been launched in the end of this year. This project highlights the important roles libraries can play for families as learning spaces.

Also it is planned to create the Family Clubs to develop and institutionalize a family friendly environment.

The presentation of the project had been held at the National Library of Azerbaijan named after M.F.Akhundov on November 15, 2018.

The event was opened by director of the National Library of Azerbaijan named after M.F.Akhundov Karim Tahirov. He noted said that the project would play a great role in educating young people. Also he noted that the National Library is open for organization of such kind of activities in the future as well. 

The deputy chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Aynur Sofiyeva expressed gratitude to all responsible bodies for supporting the implementation of this project. “Our Constitution makes it clear that family is the basis of our society” the deputy head continued, adding that “the law preserves its legal entity and strengthens its ties and values”. “The project is focused onfamily values, dialogue and communication within the family environment”, she concluded.
