The Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Peru to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, Chairperson of the State Committee Hicran Huseynova provided information on the projects implemented by the Government in the field of protection of women's rights, prevention of domestic violence and gender affairs. She also noted: " Nowadays the Government of Azerbaijan implements a number of projects aimed to advance women’s rights in solution of existing issues and to develop women entrepreneurship.  Through a series of seminars, special training and publications, women from each region are being introduced to necessary guidelines.  Azerbaijan closely cooperates with international bodies, and international standards are being followed by legislation in the field of protection of women and children rights. The legislative, judicial, administrative measures that the Republic of Azerbaijan had adopted during the last decade give outstanding results. As confirmation of the above, it should be noted that there are no sectors to which women have not contributed their labour, the number of crimes on violence against women and cases of early marriages are decreased."  Also the Chairperson  expressed her expectation that women from the two sides would conduct friendly exchanges and pragmatic cooperation in the above mentioned field. 
Maria Milagros Castanon Seoane stressed the importance of defining possible areas of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Peru, adding there is good potential in the field of gender affairs.
The sides discussed cooperation issues between relevant bodies of the two countries and and  the possibility of working together on joint projects in the future.
