She was born in Fuzuli, Azerbaijan on March 20, 1962
She is married and has one child
Education
Bahar Muradova graduated from Baku Light Industry Technical College with distinction in 1981. In 1990, she graduated from the Department of Philology, Baku State University. She also earned a law degree from Azerbaijan University in 2000.
Career
Bahar Muradova started her career at No.1 Baku Garment factory in 1981 and continued her work at Azerbaijan Society of Voluntary Book Lovers in 1989-1992. Her work also includes serving as an Executive Secretary of “Gayghi” (Care) Society in 1992-1993 and instructor at the Executive Authority of Yasamal District from 1993 to 1995.
She worked as a referent at the Social and Political Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan from 1995 to 2000.
She has been the member of New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) since 1993.
She served as the member of the Governing Board of Yasamal NAP from 1994 to 1999, and Deputy Chair of the Women's Council of New Azerbaijan Party from 1995 to 1999.
She was elected a member of the Political Council and Governing Board of NAP, as well as the Deputy Executive Secretary of NAP in 1999.
She served as the Deputy Executive Secretary of New Azerbaijan Party from 1999 to 2005.
She has been the chair of the International Relations Commission of NAP since 2013. She has been elected to the Azerbaijani Parliament during the second, third, fourth and fifth convocations.
She served as the Vice-speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament and head of Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE from 2005 to 2020.
She was appointed to be the Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, Republic of Azerbaijan with the Presidential Decree on 12 March, 2020.
Awards
She is a recipient of local and internal awards.
In 2012, she was awarded with “Shohrat” Order
In 2017, she was awarded with an Honorary Medal of Azerbaijani Parliament for the development of parliamentarism and strengthening of inter-parliamentary relations
In 2019, she was awarded with jubilee medal of “100th Anniversary of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (1918-2018)”
She was awarded a 2nd degree "Homeland Service Order" with a Presidential Decree by Ilham Aliyev in 2022.
Scientific activities
She defended her PhD thesis and received a Doctorate of Philosophy in Political Science in 2009.
She is currently enrolled in postdoctoral program of “Political institutions and systems” with a topic of “Foreign and political relations of National Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan: Bilateral and multilateral cooperation” at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
